Hello everyone!
Take at look at what your child was doing at school last week.

In Math, the class is learning about the faces, edges and vertices of 3D solids.

Non-fiction text features was the focus in Language. Many students already have deep connections to these features and can identify and apply them well.

Our whole school is investing time in a concept called Social Emotional Learning. Part of this concept is knowing how to self-regulate yourself so you can be the best possible you. The students have discussed what it looks like, sounds like and feels like to be in a certain zone. Activities are being done school-wide so that children have strategies to use to get to the green zone which is the calm and ready to learn zone.

We have been given a social justice mission. Our class is a part of Operation Tiny Troops. The purpose of our mission was to create Christmas greeting cards with thoughtful messages to be sent overseas to Canadian Armed Forces members who will not be home with their families this Christmas season.  This mission aligned nicely with our Religion and Family Life lessons of developing a sense of empathy. Although the concept of worldly conflicts is a difficult concept to understand at this age, the class was empathetic in understanding that families will not be together over the upcoming Christmas season.

Please bring in any items you have for the St. Rita White Elephant Sale this week.  Items that were on the list included gently used toys, books, games, housewares, jewellery and  Christmas decorations.
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER.......

  • Christmas Mass on Wednesday December 5th at 10:00am. All are welcome.
  • White Elephant Sale Friday December 7th. Please bring a reusable bag for all your treasures.
