Hello Everyone,
A short week but a busy week last week. Take a look at the photos as a launching pad to ask your child questions about what they are learning about.
The students were reminded that Easter is not just reserved for the Easter weekend that we were off from school but the 50 days leading to Pentecost.

Our time in the Learning Commons is split between taking out books and computer coding Ozobots to do certain things. Ask your child how to get the Ozobot to pause.

We have spent many classes learning why and how to multiply. We have learned different strategies on the Smartboard, paper pencil questions, playing multiplication games and going to websites such as ixlmath.com and iknowitmath.com to practise these facts.

The class is busily working on their Young Authors stories for our upcoming Education Week. The class knows that we have only 2 more language blocks of time dedicated to getting our stories to the final product. Ask your child where they are in the story writing process.

In Health, we continue to talk about prescription, non-prescription and illegal drugs which would be alcohol and tobacco in grade 3. Last week's focus was learning about positive and negative peer pressure. Ask your child what the book below has to do with peer pressure.

St. Rita is kicking off Education Week with an Open House on Monday May 6th at 7:45 am until the beginning of first block. You are all invited! Please see the memo your child is bringing home this Monday April 29th and be sure to check out the St. Rita website for a breakdown of each day's events.

 A FEW THINGS T REMEMBER.....

  • Cake Walk is this Friday May 3rd. Notes and tickets went home with your child last week.
  • Homework looks a little different this week. The focus is on the accuracy and efficiency of multiplication sentences
  • Please check your child's agenda daily and keep any flyers or pamphlets at home. I am noticing that these items are not taken out of your child's agenda which makes it more likely to get lost.
