Hello Everyone,
Take a look at our busy week.
We had our first lesson for Swim to Survive at Plant Bath. All went seamless except for our return back to school and we all know how that ended. Thanks to all for your patience for this unforeseeable event.

We had a workshop on indoor tennis for our gym class. It was interesting to see how the students adapted to being asked by the tennis expert to work on control of the ball rather than power.

In Math, we explored 4 different strategies to multiply. Ask your child which strategy made the most sense to them.  Below, you can see that we spent more time on using arrays as a strategy as it lended itself well to some area problems we were still finishing up.

We have had much success with our bean plants. Ask your child at what stage of the life cycle is their bean seed in. Below, you can see that leaves are developing in these plants. Perfect timing for our lesson on Monday-photosynthesis!

In Language, your child has written a short story about the adventures they would go on if they found a map and also if they were a school bag, what would they look like and where they would go if they were the school bag. We have looked at exemplars to see what a level 2,3 and 4 story looks and sounds like. This week coming, your child will be asked to write their own adventure story in preparation for Young Authors in early May.

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER.....

  • NO school on Good Friday (April 19) or Easter Monday (April 22)
  • NO homework this week because Easter celebrations
  • Swim to Survive on Wednesday April 17th
  • Please check your child's agenda daily
  • Permission note coming home for Museum of Nature outing
  • Stations of the Cross presentation this Thursday at 10:15 am in the gym. All are welcome
