Hello Everyone,
Use these photos as conversations starters with your child to get your child to explain in more detail what our class has been up to.

 In Math, we are wrapping up our unit on perimeter and area. Our class has had lots of practice to recognize when to use perimeter and when to use area and how to apply the strategies for each.

 We've read and looked at many adventure stories to see if the story had all the parts needed for a good story. last week, our class had the chance to write an adventure story together. Ask your child about My Pup the Paw Shaker. What strategy did we use to hook the reader? How many events did we include? What was the challenge in the story?

 We took one final look at our bean seeds that germinated over the past week. Many children had much success with the germination process. We lost a few seeds to rot and mould but most were healthy enough to plant in pots with soil.  Ask your child to label the parts of the seed for you.

Our class had the opportunity to listen to a presentation put on by The National Gallery of Art. The class listened intently to the stories of what inspired the artists to create the particular piece of art.
